Methodology
Every row is a verbatim sentence read from the named source's own page through our fetch service on the date shown, hash-pinned to the stored read (the sha of the page's visible text; the raw page is mirrored to R2).
18 of the 27 named sources that could be read published a usable figure; 9 published none and are recorded as not published, never filled in; 3 could not be read (blocked, dead or unreachable) and count nowhere.
The headline figures (median, minimum, maximum, quartiles) are over ONE figure per source in hour (a source's median where its page yielded several accepted sentences), so N counts sources, never sentences; 126 candidate sentence(s) were refused by a reviewer with the reason recorded.
The fuller derivation this dataset is chartered to grow into (not yet what the figures above are; they are each source's own published figure as read): one row per jurisdiction per term - accrual rate, annual accrual cap, annual use cap, carryover, waiting period, employer-size threshold, payout at separation, and what documentation or notice an employer may demand of a request - each quoted verbatim from the wage-and-hour authority with its effective date; the cross-jurisdiction comparison is the figure nobody publishes (which states accrue at 1:30 versus 1:40, which cap at 40 versus 48 hours, the nine states where earned vacation is wages and must be paid out whatever the handbook says, and the jurisdictions where the floor is a number of weeks rather than an accrual rate); changed-since the previous read, which is the news every time a rate year or a statute turns
126 candidate sentences on these pages were refused by a reviewer; each refusal and its reason is recorded in the review ledger.
